Laboratory of Aerosol Filtration (AEROFIL)

The team operates within the Department of Integrated Process Engineering at the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology. It collaborates with research units (including the Central Institute for Labour Protection, Norwegian Institute for Water Research) and companies in the filtration industry (e.g., Amazon Filters).

The research theme focuses on aerosol separation issues of various morphologies and a wide range of particle diameters – from nano to several micrometers. The team presents a comprehensive approach that includes: designing and producing nonwoven filter structures by melt-blown and solution-blown techniques, modifying existing filter structures, testing the effectiveness of the obtained structures under different process conditions, and mathematical modeling of the aerosol particle filtration process in polymeric nonwoven filters.

The team has completed several research projects, as well as commissions and contracts covering analyses and research for the industry.
