Academic year 2022/2023 at WIChiP ceremonially started

The inauguration ceremony of the 2022/2023 academic year at our Faculty was held on Friday, September 30, 2022. Invited guests gathered in the Auditorium: representatives of the University's authorities and PW departments, as well as staff and students of the Faculty.

Engineering, Prof. Marek Henczka, who welcomed all participants to the event. Then in his speech, the Dean emphasized that in the current difficult economic situation in the country, the Faculty is well prepared to function in the new reality. He assured that the overriding goal of the actions taken, despite the introduction of savings, will be to maintain the high quality of teaching activities and studies conducted. An example of such action is the introduction of a new English-language specialization in second-level studies to the teaching offer in the new academic year. The dean stressed that in its scientific activities, the faculty is opening up to new research areas related to hydrogen technologies and fuel cells, in which the first successes are already being achieved. At the end of the speech, the Dean officially opened the new academic year 2022/2023 at the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering.

In his speech, Prof. Miroslaw Karpierz, Vice-Rector for General Affairs of the Warsaw University of Technology, highlighted the scientific and teaching achievements of our Faculty. Addressing students newly admitted to the first year of study, he noted their future role in solving the problems of modern civilization. Concluding his speech, he invited the youngest students to actively participate in the academic life of the University.

After the speech by the Vice-Rector, the matriculation of newly admitted first-year students took place. After taking the academic oath, the students received their matriculation certificates from the hands of Dean Prof. Marek Henczka, thus joining the academic community of the Faculty.

After the matriculation, the new students were welcomed in their speeches by WRS Chairwoman Zuzanna Jóźwik, Eng., and Scientific Club of Chemical and Process Engineering "Venturi" Chairman, Jakub Lewandowski. Afterwards, the Vice-Rector of the Warsaw University of Technology for General Affairs, Prof. Miroslaw Karpierz, presented the Faculty staff with the Warsaw University of Technology Rector's Awards for scientific, teaching and organizational achievements.

Next, Prof. Eugeniusz Molga, gave the first lecture of the new academic year entitled "Colors of Hydrogen - Chemical Engineering in Hydrogen Technologies."

The final highlight of the ceremony was the Gaudeaumus academic anthem performed by the Choir of the Warsaw University of Technology, which we would like to thank for the wonderful artistic setting of our academic year inauguration.

We wish the entire academic community of the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering a fruitful and successful academic year 2022/2023.
