Bilateral exchanges are international exchanges based on bilateral cooperation agreements between Warsaw University of Technology or its Faculties and foreign institutions of higher education.

Bilateral student exchange agreements allow students to go abroad for one or two semesters to pursue part of their studies abroad on the basis of an established curriculum. The exchange participant also enjoys other benefits, such as:

opportunity to study in prestigious foreign universities in an international environment,

getting acquainted with the educational system of another country,

gaining professional experience and acquiring new skills, as well as confronting theoretical and practical knowledge on foreign ground,

improving language skills,

learning about new cultures and nationalities,

making new friends and experiencing an unforgettable adventure.

Each bilateral student exchange agreement contains detailed provisions that specify how many students and at what degree level can take part in the exchange, the financial conditions and how long the stay can last. In general, students are exempt from tuition fees at the host university, while they usually cover the costs of accommodation, food, international and local transportation and insurance on their own. Some of the partner universities offer students free accommodation.

Students who meet the following criteria may apply for exchange under bilateral agreements:

are registered as students of Warsaw University of Technology,

are officially nominated by Warsaw University of Technology; for this purpose, it is required to obtain written permission from the Faculty authorities to apply,

meet the criteria set by the host university,

speak English or the language of instruction of the host university to the required (advanced) degree,

meet other requirements set forth in the provisions of the agreement between the WUT and the partner university.
