| Course title |
Computer Simulation of Industrial Processes |
| Lecturer |
dr. in¿. Roman Krzywda |
| Semester |
Spring |
| Description |
The course deals with the computer simulation of typical unit operations and plants in chemical industry. Flowsheet simulator CHEMCAD (Chemistation Inc.) is used. |
| Prerequisites |
The knowledge of unit operations (fluid flow, heat exchange, distillation, extraction, absorption) as well as physical chemistry is assumed. |
| Course content |
Computer simulation of industrial plants with typical processes as e.g.: distillation tower (including batch distillation), liquid/liquid extractors, absorbers, solid separation, heat exchangers, reactors etc. Design of chemical plants, simulation of process operating mode (including recycle), equipment sizing, creating process flow diagrams and reports. |
