Course title Gas Cleaning Processes
Lecturer prof. dr hab. In¿. Jerzy Warych
dr in¿. Bogumi³a Wrzesiñska
Semester Winter
Description The course deals with the science and engineering of gas cleaning from solid, liquid and gases impurities, based on the basic principles of chemical and process engineering.
Prerequisites The basic knowledge of hydrodynamic, mass and heat transfer processes also with chemical reaction in the process medium is assumed.
Course content The course is content: the introduction to air pollution control, air pollution effects, air pollution measurements and monitoring emissions, air pollution modelling, the nature of particulate pollutants and general ideas in air pollution control, control of primary particulates achieved by settling chambers, cyclones, filters, electrostatics precipitators, wet scrubbers and demisters. Fire and explosions hazards in dust removal processes are also discussed.
