The course deals with characteristics of industrial wastewaters and the water and wastewater primary treatment processes. |
| Prerequisites |
The knowledge of environmental protection processes, fundamental processes of chemical engineering, mathematics (ODE), as well as process thermodynamics and process kinetics is assumed. |
| Course content |
Sources and characteristics of wastewater (effect of industrial wastewater on receiving water); characteristics of dispersed systems and separation processes; primary treatment processes (gravity and centrifugal sedimentation, deep and surface filtration, flotation); coagulation and flocculation; liquid/solid and liquid/gas adsorption processes; ion exchange. |
