| Description |
Basic principles and design of permeation separation processes of gases and liquids are presented. |
| Prerequisites |
The knowledge of fundamental processes of chemical engineering, mathematics (ODE), as well as process thermodynamics and process kinetics is assumed. |
| Course content |
Separation cascade theory; permeation; membrane and their production; membrane modules; membrane filtration processes (microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis); concentration polarisation and membrane fouling; permeation with liquid membranes; dialysis and electrodialysis; pervaporisation; gas permeation; membrane contactors (membrane extraction, absorption and distillation). |
