The course deals with properties, transformations and functions of basic group of organic compounds of organisms (especially microbial cells). |
| Prerequisites |
The knowledge of organic chemistry and microbiology is assumed. |
| Course content |
Components and functions organelles of Procaryota cells. Energy of biochemical reactions. Nitrogen compounds- role and metabolism. Enzymes, coenzymes and vitamins. Sugars- role and metabolism. Biological oxidation. Lipids- role and metabolism. Nucleic acids and their functions. |
