| Description |
The course deals with the construction chemical and process apparatuses, equipment to carry on the unit operations for simple and complex processes, the selection and design of the principal kinds of process equipment. |
| Prerequisites |
An elementary knowledge of unit operations and transport phenomena is assumed. |
| Course content |
The course is content: the general background of process design, flowsheets and process control, construction materials, the major kinds of operations and equipment e.g., storage (solid, liquid and gas), conveyor and processing solid materials, pumps and compressors (vacuum pumps), mixing and agitation, separation of heterophase mixtures, heat exchangers, evaporators and crystallisation, distillation and gas absorption, adsorption and extraction, drying of solids and particle size enlargement, chemical and bioreactors. |
